John T. Scharver, CPCU

John is a graduate of Kent State University. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He was employed by The Cincinnati Insurance Company in various underwriting capacities from April 1996 until April 1999. In April 1999, John moved to Columbus to work for CNA Insurance as their Commercial Lines Field Representative. John joined our agency in May 2001.

John obtained his CPCU designation in December 2006. John specializes in Commercial Insurance. John and his wife Jennifer reside in New Albany with their son Ethan and daughter Addison. John enjoys spending time with his family, golf and running.

Mark Perkins, CPCU, ARM

Mark graduated with honors from the University of Toledo with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and Management.  He continues his insurance and risk management education and has earned the Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Risk Management designations from the Insurance Institute of America.

Industry Specialties:
With +20 years of commercial insurance experience, Mark has developed some areas of specialization.  He has +18 years of experience with environmental risks where he says "Environmental Risk Management is process-driven and specialized insurance policies are just one tool."  Mark works with property owners, developers, municipalities, environmental service providers, legal, financial, real estate, public and governmental relations advisors to help clients develop and implement a cost effective plan to achieve objectives in a time sensitive manner.

Mark has also applied this same process-driven approach to manage risks for Technology, Life Science and emerging companies that offer unique products and services.  The Risk Management process allows these companies to enhance business development while protecting against possible losses.

Mark has made a hole-in-one and became an Eagle Scout in 1973.  He enjoys exploring new places and things with his daughter, Carly, as well as playing golf, the arts and supporting a variety of community development projects.

Lori Robinson

Lori Robinson-Terry started in the insurance business in 1990 with PENCO. She went back to college in 1992 and graduated from Ohio Dominican College with a BS of Mathematics in 1994. The following year Lori delved back into the insurance world and joined an insurance agency in Worthington as a Commercial Lines Assistant. In 1998 she moved to a new agency as Commercial Lines Manager and was there until joining SHK in June of 2007, replacing long time and loved employee Marty Myers who went on to the better life of retirement.
